Creamline Stays Unscathed In PVL AFC After Sweeping Farm Fresh

MAKE that nine straight wins for Creamline as it took down Farm Fresh in a 25-15, 25-19, 27-25 sweep in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena.

Three match points were saved by the Foxies before Jema Galanza’s game-winning ace capped a 15-point performance built on 12 attacks, two aces and one block.

Team captain Alyssa Valdez had a near triple-double following a stellar all-around game with eight points, 12 digs and nine receptions.

The Cool Smashers has now matched the league's second-longest win streak — one it previously set last year — at 19.

It has now been six months since Creamline last lost a PVL match at the hands of Petro Gazz back in the 2024 Reinforced Conference in August.

Farm Fresh has now lost back-to-back games, sliding to 4-6.

Caitlin Viray took over the opposite hitter role with a team-high 11 points as top scorer Trisha Tubu was held to limited minutes with lingering back pain.

Bigger pursuit of history

Creamline’s ongoing 19-game win streak is another new feat to the defending champions’ growing list of league accolades over the last eight years.

In order to extend that unbeaten run even further, the last thing the Cool Smashers have to do the rest of the way is to think of such numbers and achievements.

The only way for Creamline to move is forward without thinking too much about what lies ahead.

“We didn't even talk about that (win streak),” said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses.

Galanza added: “We're always training, we always wake up early, go to the court, just training.

“We're not like, 'Oh, what are we? We're just going to be alone. We have to play better (than the opponent).' We just want to get our game together in the important (situations).”
